MPS' MPQ4214-AEC1 is a synchronous, four-switch buck-boost controller capable of regulating different output voltages with a wide input voltage (VIN) range and high efficiency. The MPQ4214-AEC1 provides a digital interface that supports a configurable output voltage (VOUT), VOUT slew rate control, and constant output current limit. This makes the MPQ4214-AEC1 well-suited for USB power delivery (PD) design in USB Type-C® power supplies.
The MPQ4214-AEC1 uses valley current control in buck mode and peak current control in boost mode, providing fast load transient response and smooth buck-boost mode transients. The MPQ4214-AEC1 offers forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM) and a configurable average current limit, which supports flexible designs for different applications.
Additional features include hiccup overcurrent protection (OCP), auto-retry overvoltage protection (OVP), configurable soft start, and configurable undervoltage lockout (UVLO).
The MPQ4214-AEC1 is available in a QFN-27 (5 mm x 5 mm) package and in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.

- MPQ4214GU-12: 1.2 V fixed VREF
- <50 mA step output current (IOUT) limit adjusting via the IPWM pin
- Flexible digital interface control:
- 0.5 V to 36 V VOUT range
- 0.3 V to 2.047 V VREF range with 1 mV steps
- Selectable VOUT slew rate
- 0.6 A step configurable output constant current (CC) limit
- Frequency dithering function for EMI optimization
