Low Cost 500 mA ~ 1 A DC Switching Regulators

CUI’s encapsulated VX78 and open frame VXO78 series are the latest additions to CUI’s family of non-isolated DC switching regulators. These next generation regulators are extremely efficient up to 96%, aimed at maximizing economy while delivering a high level of performance as a direct alternative to linear regulators. Utilizing switching technology, the models are footprint compatible with TO-220 package LM78XX and LM79XX model regulators and, unlike linear regulators, they do not require a heat sink, making them ideal for portable devices, battery-fed equipment, and embedded designs where board space is at a premium and energy efficiency is a concern.
