3M produces a family of thermally conductive adhesive tape, the 8810 series. This series of transfer tapes is designed to create a preferential heat-transfer path between two objects, typically a heat generator and a heat sink or other cooling device. As a pressure sensitive adhesive , there is no need to go through a heat cure cycle to achieve a high quality bond and thermal interface. Using a specialized acrylic chemistry, there is an excellent thermal stability of the base polymer, giving long lasting performance under extreme circumstances. 3M’s adhesive expertise shines as the wetting and flow of the tapes allows these tapes to remain fast to most surfaces.
