This is the summary of all NXP DisplayPort adapter solutions. As described earlier, level shifters are needed for DisplayPort to DVI and HDMI conversion. The PTN3360A and PTN3360B are level shifters used on motherboards. The PTN3361 has Dongle detect and a DDC (Display Data Channel) buffer and hence can be used for a DisplayPort to DVI or HDMI dongle. The PTN3380 integrates a 5V regulator within and hence is an optimized version of PTN3360 for DVI dongle applications. The PTN3381 has the dongle detect feature and an integrated 5V regulator making it an ideal solution for HDMI dongles. The PTN3392 and PTN3372 (not shown here) are DisplayPort to VGA adapters; the difference being the integrated 5V regulator for PTN3372. The latest HDMI specification allows the feature of deep color support that requires higher bandwidth support. The PTN3360D is a DisplayPort to HDMI level shifter that supports higher data rates of 2.25 Gbps and hence enables deep color support through the dongle.
